Last Tuesday night, indie pop favorite LANY brought their signature blend of dreamy synths and heartfelt lyricism to a packed out Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado. The crowd buzzed with anticipation long before the trio took the stage, and from the opening notes, everybody in the audience knew every lyric. Their setlist balanced fan favorites with newer material, weaving together different eras of the band’s catalog.

The night was opened by R&B, soul, pop duo KAIRO and singer-songwriter ELIO. Seeing LANY live is a full experience. Frontman Paul Klein naturally owns the stage, both effortlessly and deeply personally. He has the ability to connect with the audience, making a large venue feel intimate. Whether he was dancing across the stage or pausing for quiet moments, Klein understands exactly how to hold a crowd’s attention.

Backed by a band whose musical talents are polished and refined, the performance felt tight yet organic, allowing each member’s talents to shine. There’s a certain ease to LANY’s live sound. After more than a decade of playing together, their chemistry is undeniable.

One of the most striking aspects of the night was the crowd itself. The audience sang along to every word of every song, creating an echo throughout the venue. They, of course, played iconic fan favorites like “pink skies” and “ILYSB.” LANY has the ability to evolve while staying true to their core sound. They have built their identity around dream pop music that blends ’80s-inspired synths with modern indie. Their songs often explore love, heartbreak, and self-reflection, delivered with a sincerity that resonates. This emotional honesty, paired with their sleek production style, has helped them carve out a distinct space in the indie pop world; Truly performers to their core.
