On April 13, 2026- Tigers Jaw performed at the Music Farm with special guests: Hot Flash Heat Wave and Creeks. That night was filled with unfamiliarity because I never personally listened to all three bands before, but once I stepped out of that venue that night; I knew expanding my horizons was a good idea. The room filled up with an indie rock vibe with some added psychedelics giving me sitting in a room on the floor surrounded by black light posters and embracing the creativity around me type of vibes.
Creeks opened up the show who is a solo artist that truly was disrespected by the crowd because you could hear everyone else’s voices over his almost. I’ve never seen such disrespect at a show and openers deserve the same respect as direct support and headliners. You could see how grateful he was on stage and how much he appreciates being on this tour. At the end of the artists set; Hot Flash Heat Wave made an appearance on stage and started performing with Creeks which added such an atmospheric moment for all attendees. The artist stated this; “I’m not a river, stream, or lake. I am Creeks“

Hot Flash Heat Wave was next and their set made me feel like I was experiencing almost like sleep paralysis because of how much their music put me in a trance. I didn’t know any songs that were being performed because I wanted to experience it in a live version first. When you watch their set; it honestly feels like you are in an experiment with the crowd because you just don’t know what the next song entails and how the band’s stage presence will change. Being kept on my toes for their set made me realize that embracing a different genre of music opens up my eyes more to the creativity within the industry. During their set; I spoke to a couple that’s expecting a baby soon and they told me the baby was conceived one night while listening to this bands album at home. I don’t think I ever heard something like this before, but that just shows how much they love the band. Best conversation I had at a show.

Tigers Jaw was up and their set truly sent me into a whole different dimension. This was one of the first times I fully stayed for a whole set because I do travel hours to go to shows, so I was locked in. Their set felt like they were performing in a small room and that’s how personal it felt especially to me. The chemistry between the musicians towards the attendees to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves is something I feel like the industry is slowly losing. You can sense how appreciative the band is to be able to perform in front of such a large crowd. When I was done photographing my three songs in the pit; I decided to wander around the venue and watch the reactions of attendees. There was this couple leaning against the wall singing to each other as if they were the only ones in the room and embracing each lyric as if it was holding them together like glue. Tigers Jaw gave us such an immersive set from start to finish which caused attendees to scream along to every song almost like they are letting out cathartic screams. At some point during their set; a large group of people started jumping in the middle of the crowd singing along filled with so much excitement to the point where you could see the sweat pooling off of their skin.
