ZAYN has fans jaw-dropped after his highly anticipated fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, was released on April 17, 2026. From hit boy band to shining solo career, the multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter, producer, and philanthropist was deeply inspired by his heritage for the record. The influences from South Asian vocal and rhythmic traditions shine throughout the album and are brought into sharper focus. Co-produced by ZAYN alongside Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde), with whom he previously worked on his record-breaking debut studio album, Mind of Mine, expanding on the sounds fans first connected with.

The album art showcases how passionately his heritage has a role in creating the album: the snow leopard, a deep symbol in South Asia. The 15-track album opens with “Nusrat,” an ode to Pakistani musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the creative anchor of KONNAKOL, setting the vocal experimentation and sonic direction that truly shaped the album. From track one through 15, the listener is taken through an intimate, personal, dark night, memories overflowing, butterflies in your stomach, warm love in your heart kind of feeling. I have truly never been touched deeper in my soul than I was listening to KONNAKOL front to back. The recent single “Side Effects” expresses the ups and downs of love and devotion. It’s not your typical love song. The diversity of this album is remarkable. Track nine, “Fatal,” introduces a high dance energy with an infectious pulse, designed for a live stage. While track 14, “Breathe,” brings a softer, intimate sound of relaxed relief. The last song on the album, “Die For Me,” takes us back to 2016 when ZAYN released his debut album as a solo artist. His strong, powerful belting, signature falsetto, and pristine vocals. Unforgettably unique to who Zayn Malik is as an artist.

Malik kicked off his release week on the cover of ELLE India, sharing the cultural influence behind the album. In celebration of the release, ZAYN will make his first late-night TV interview alongside a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 21. We’re less than a month away from “THE KONNAKOL TOUR,” kicking off in Manchester, United Kingdom, on MAY 12 – his largest solo tour to date! Spanning major cities across the globe, including London, Los Angeles, São Paulo, Washington, D.C., and more!
