U.K. band South Arcade has made its first comeback of 2026 with its release “SUPERMAN.” It is available everywhere — listen HERE.
“SUPERMAN” leans into that early-2000s aesthetic the band is very familiar with, but twists it in a way that still feels new. It mixes pop and alt-rock really well, with a slightly distorted, electronic vibe layered over the high-energy instrumentals. The song really stands out with its big, catchy moments and bold, chorus-driven sound, making it feel both throwback and current at the same time.
When talking about the song, the band mentioned, “‘SUPERMAN’ is about being pushed past breaking point. All patience has tapped out, and you put the song on as your rage anthem. We found it funny how the verses are so chill, then it just suddenly goes crazy, which kind of summed up the feelings we wanted. When you’re sick of being the one who always holds it together, and something has pushed you over the edge.”
The music video for “SUPERMAN,” directed by DOGBRAIN, leans into the band’s chaotic energy in a really cool way. It basically plays on the idea of what you want to do vs. what you actually do in real life. Each of them is shown as just a regular person stuck in annoying, everyday situations. As the song picks up, things start to get weird and intense, almost like their thoughts are spiraling into over-the-top, violent daydreams. But then it keeps snapping back to reality, reminding you that none of that actually happens. By the end, it’s pretty clear those moments are just in their heads. It’s kind of dark but also a little funny, showing how people hide what they’re really feeling and just act “normal” instead.

The track comes after the announcement of the band’s biggest headline show to date. On February 25, 2027, the band is set to play a show at London’s iconic O2 Academy Brixton, marking a major milestone in their rapid rise. The band announced the show in front of thousands while playing The O2 Arena supporting 5 Seconds Of Summer on their massive “Everyone’s A Star” UK and EU tour last week, and have been teasing the new song during their set, reaching thousands of new fans.
Speaking of the O2 Academy Brixton show, the band has said:
“We can’t quite believe we’re saying it, but we’re so excited we can announce our crazy plan to headline Brixton O2 Academy! It’s such a cool venue, and one we’ve seen so many amazing bands in, so to be able to step onto that stage still doesn’t quite make sense to us! Now we just need to find some more huge spray cans…”

“SUPERMAN” is kicking off a big year for South Arcade after their 2025 EP “PLAY!,” which had songs like “FEAR OF HEIGHTS,” “Supermodels,” and “Drive Myself Home.” Since then, they’ve been blowing up pretty fast, getting big festival spots like Download and TRNSMT, and even sharing stages with huge names. They’re also coming back to the U.S. for the idobi “Summer School Tour” and hitting Vans Warped Tour later on. They’ve already pulled in over 100 million streams on Spotify from their last two EPs, and their fanbase is growing everywhere, on TikTok, YouTube, and especially at their shows. Basically, they’re becoming a really big deal in the alt-rock scene right now.
