April 23, 2026 – Vevo announces the release of Dermot Kennedy’s Live from Vevo Studios performance of “Refuge,” following Kennedy’s previously released Live from Vevo Studios performance of “Funeral.”

Being named a Vevo DSCVR artist in 2018, Vevo and Dermot Kennedy have a long history of collaboration. The “Live from Vevo Studios” series offers emerging and established artists alike the chance to connect with their fans through the art of visual performance. With top-of-the-line audio and lighting, these artists can be their most authentic selves whilst fostering connection with their global fanbases.

“Funeral” was the second single from the album The Weight of the Woods. The album was inspired by the sounds and sights of Dermot’s home in Ireland and reflects on the process of moving forward from heartache. Dermot explains, “To me, the album is a beautiful homegrown thing with Irish instruments and an Irish story. There’s a forest behind my house, which is a haven for my sense of wonder. It’s a peaceful place where I can escape. I’ve entertained the idea of living somewhere else, but I don’t think I’d be happy anywhere else.”

Starting off busking on the streets of Ireland to world tours, Kennedy is known for forging deep, emotional connections with fans through his music.
