Riot Fest is coming, but where is that lineup?

138 days until Riot Fest (RF) kicks off in Douglass Park, Chicago, Illinois, for another year. The anticipation and excitement continue to grow as other festivals have announced full lineups or continue to add artists to the list, yet we have not heard a single peep from RF about who is playing. We have rumors, assumptions, and know which artists won’t make it due to conflicts with festivals, as made by rules that allow other major fests in the Chicago area to avoid overlaps. I have my predictions and my hopes for who will play. I am also restless because I just want to know even one artist who could be there.

Yet the more people continue to pester for the coveted secrets, the more we are teased across social media with posts saying they’ll make us wait an additional day every time someone pokes them to reveal it. Patience is a virtue, but the wise people of RF know that the more they make us wait, the more likely the wait will be worth it. But are waits like this worth it, or do they end up raising our expectations too high? As we continue to ponder which artists RF made a grab for and secured that other festivals could not, anticipation continues to build.

138 more days until it begins, but while we continue to wait for the list, you’d better grab those tickets and secure some lodging for the weekend because prices continue to rise the longer you wait. It might seem like just three days of music, but it’s far more than that. There are plenty of extra fun activities you can do, like ride the Ferris wheel, play carnival games, eat from all sorts of vendors, and shop till you drop. Aside from the RF official merch and the bands, they bring in other cool artists you can support.

138 more days to go… who do you want to see?
