There are 45 days until the first day and opening weekend of the world’s largest music festival, and they continue to announce even more amazing artists. They continue to amaze me with getting even more pulls in the local scene, and Sincere Engineer and Guardrail are joining the lineup. I recently got a corndog tattoo in honor of Sincere Engineer’s song “Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7,” and I am so stoked to be able to scream along to that song once again this year.
The weather is starting to really heat up as we move out of the dreary Midwest winter-summer mix, and it’s looking like mostly 60-degree weather from here on out, which is definitely a good thing. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am definitely over the bipolar feel in the temperature as it bounces from the mid-40s to the low-70s, back and forth because it cannot make up its mind. It’s early May, and I don’t want to have to continue bundling up under layers of clothes every single day. Let the warm weather be so we can move on.
I know a ton of fans are stoked to see the band Soulified making the cut. If you don’t know who they are, they are a more recent rise to fame thanks to the Netflix original TV series, “Making the Band.” This show was about individuals putting together a group based on voices and vibes alone; they did not get to see or meet each other until confirming they would be in a band together. I thought it was a super cool way, and it was really “The Voice” meets “X Factor.” This group of boys is today’s latest boy band of the century, and I’m sure they will be a hit, especially with the ladies.
Summer is coming along with all the outdoor music festivals, and it’s going to be a blast at all of them, but make sure you turn up to Summerfest in Milwaukee!
