A new era is officially underway as Ariana Grande announces a brand new single, “hate that i made you love me,” arriving on 29 May. The release will mark the first single from her upcoming eighth studio album, petal, which is set to be released on 31 July.

When sharing the news on Instagram, she described the song as “one of my favorite songs I’ll ever write” and added that she “simply cannot wait for it to be yours”. Produced by longtime collaborators Ilya Salmanzadeh and Max Martin, both of whom previously worked alongside Ariana to create her last album, eternal sunshine.
