August Burns Red have shared the official video for “Sonic Salvation,” a new single featuring Jamie Hails of Polaris. The track appears on the band’s upcoming album Season of Surrender, set for release June 5 via Fearless Records.

The twice GRAMMY-nominated metalcore band, made up of Jake Luhrs, JB Brubaker, Brent Rambler, Dustin Davidson, and Matt Greiner, recently returned to Fearless Records for the new release. Season of Surrender follows the band into another heavy chapter, bringing together August Burns Red’s technical precision, breakdown-driven force, and the kind of massive crowd-ready moments that have kept them at the front of modern metalcore for years.

“Sonic Salvation” leans directly into that live energy. Built around heavy riffs, pit-ready breakdowns, and shout-along vocal moments, the song channels the connection between August Burns Red and the fans who have turned their shows into full-room releases for more than two decades. Subtle? Not really. But subtlety is wildly overrated when the goal is making a room collectively lose its mind in rhythm.

Guitarist JB Brubaker said “Sonic Salvation” was the first song he wrote for Season of Surrender, explaining that he wanted to create more room for Luhrs vocally while leaning further into the band’s hardcore influences. Brubaker also praised Hails’ guest appearance, noting that the Polaris vocalist helped push the song over the top.

Luhrs described the track as a song about finding strength through music, pointing to the way songs can bring people back to memories, help them decompress from the outside world, and create the kind of shared community that defines the metal scene. That theme carries into the video itself, which features fans singing and playing along to the track as a direct nod to August Burns Red’s dedicated fanbase.

Season of Surrender will also include guest appearances from Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada and Make Them Suffer. The album arrives as August Burns Red continue their Spring Horizons co-headlining tour with The Amity Affliction, with Boundaries and HEAVENSGATE joining on most dates.

August Burns Red is currently on the road with The Amity Affliction for the Spring Horizons tour, which includes stops in Phoenix, San Diego, Anaheim, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and more. The run also includes a May 16 festival appearance at Sonic Temple.
