The Neighbourhood made a stop at the Zénith in Paris for a concert that had been highly anticipated, especially in such an “intimate” setting.
Since the next time we’ll have the pleasure of seeing them in Paris will be at none other than the legendary Accor Arena next September. It has to be said: the crowd was completely into it. The show begins with a voice from an AI, which guides us and continues to do so throughout the concert. It announces that the concert is a safe space and encourages everyone to sing, raise their hands, clap, and dance. Then suddenly, everything goes dark, and the band’s logo appears. A house upside down.
It’s also worth noting that the lighting was perfect. Jesse James Rutherford, the band’s lead singer, made his entrance dressed all in white and wearing sunglasses, so classy.
What really stands out about him is his elegance and ease on stage; everything seems effortless for him. The set design was fantastic, filled with orange hues, cartoon-like visuals, waves, and more.
It only took Jesse three songs to decide to take off his T-shirt and reveal his tattooed chest. I think the audience was pretty pleased.
The band delivered a generous 25-song setlist spanning their entire discography, including classics such as “Daddy Issues,” “Sweater Weather,” “Afraid,” and “Softcore,” and presenting the new album Ultrasound.
As the concert went on, “The Voice” continued to guide the audience. It was an incredibly energetic show, packed with amazing songs and a completely wild crowd.
