Black Veil Brides just released the video for “Cut” featuring Lilith Czar, and it’s probably the most emotional thing they’ve put out from Vindicate so far.
The video, directed by Max Moore, takes obvious inspiration from “Corpse Bride” and fully commits to it. Andy Biersack spends the video stitching his wife back together so they can share one final dance before she’s gone again. As dramatic as it sounds, it actually works really well with the song.
What makes it more personal is that Andy and Lilith used their real wedding outfits from ten years ago during filming, and apparently renewed their vows on set too, which honestly explains why the whole thing feels a lot more genuine than most “cinematic” music videos bands try to do lately.
Musically, “Cut” leans hard into the orchestral side Black Veil Brides have been building on over the past few years. It’s big, theatrical, and very over-the-top in the best way possible. Lilith’s vocals fit the track surprisingly well, too, instead of feeling like a random feature thrown in for attention.
“Cut” appears on Vindicate, which is out now via Spinefarm. Black Veil Brides are currently touring throughout North America.
