On October 31, 2025– Indie Pop artist, JRNXLST released his new single ” Halo” which is a shimmering indie-pop pulse. “Halo” opens like a song built for movement – bright rhythms, immediate hooks, and a rush of adrenaline that suggests a moment of collision in a packed venue – but it doesn’t take long before the emotional undercurrent reveals itself. JRNXLST uses the contrast between upbeat sonic textures and heavy lyrical themes to pull the listener into a deeper conversation about toxic attachment, guilt, and the complicated ways people hold onto relationships that hurt them. The track feels intentionally conflicted: danceable on the surface, uneasy underneath.
“Halo” illustrates this as it attempts to dismantle toxic relationship dynamics while broaching heavy topics like borderline personality disorder, codependency, and guilt… all while cleverly veiled as an infectious indie pop song. The 2nd half of the song, sung entirely in Spanish evolves into a call to action for the starving children of Gaza, as the music transforms into a haunting techno banger. It was inspired by a now famous photograph of a young Palestinian child being held by a nurse in Gaza. A child that looked to be more bones than flesh, the photograph shook Guerrero to his core. As an immigrant, he has always been both artist and activist. Jrnxlst’s “Halo” is a pop song with a conscience.
