Zipangu made their debut at Brookside at the Rose Bowl on May 16 which delivered celebration of Japanese music, creative expression, and culture. Thousands of fans across the country attended one of the largest Japanese music events in the United States. The festival was presented by Goldenvoice and Cloud Nine. The event showcased Japan’s music scene and had artists perform full length sets during the day! Attendees immersed themselves in Zipangu’s curated Yokocho food and beverage experience, inspired by Tokyo’s iconic alleyway dining districts, alongside additional cultural activations that celebrated Japanese street culture, fashion, and artistry.
Ado headlined the festival with a 60-minute performance which created a memorable night! ATARASHII GAKKO!, CHANMINA, HANA, MAN WITH A MISSION, Yuki Chiba, and 10-FEET also had energy driven sets!
“Zipangu represents a major milestone for the global expansion of Japanese music. Together with Cloud Nine we set out to create an event that authentically celebrated Japan’s incredible artistic talent and cultural influence, and the response from fans was nothing short of historic.” – Ellen Lu, Goldenvoice Regional Festivals VP
