Desu Taem released their newest single “Anti Heroin Heroine” that’s a snarling rock rampage that refuses to sit still. There’s something in the undertones of “Anti Heroin Heroine” that reminds me of old Black Veil Brides, and I am absolutely enraptured by this soundscape; it’s nostalgic in all the best ways. The sound is rooted in gritty, retro rock textures: fuzz-heavy guitars, loose structure, and a rhythm section that feels intentionally rough around the edges. It pulls from classic garage rock and proto-punk DNA, but instead of refining those influences, it exaggerates them. The result is something that feels intentionally unpolished, almost brilliantly chaotic in its execution. The vocal delivery ideally matches the instrumental chaos. There’s a rough, almost taunting quality to it – something between spoken, shouted, and half-sung. I cannot wait to hear more, we hope you’ll submit other tracks!
