June 12, 2026 – Last night, genre-bending R&B metal duo sace6 delivered a performance that can be described as transcendent at Mercury Lounge in New York City. The show was completely sold out, being the second show on their “initial display tour” with support from multiple artists such as John Harvie (June 10 -June 21), Shyeye (June 21 – July 26), and Love is Noise (Nov. 20 – Dec. 8). The tour covers 13 cities within the United States, where it started in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and ends in Los Angeles, California, continuing in Europe this coming fall in Dublin, Ireland, and concluding in Milan, Italy.
At first, I was going back and forth about going to this tour despite sace6 being one of my favorite bands. With the show being sold out so quickly, I was convinced I wouldn’t have been able to get a ticket. I scoured the internet the day before last night’s show whilst sitting in the chair at my dentist’s office, awaiting news about receiving surgery. I found resale tickets, debating the price, evidently, but I figured if you love a band so much that you want to support them on their first headlining tour, there really is no reason not to get the tickets. So boom, I bought them, and instantly excitement coursed through my veins. I had seen the performances from the previous shows that were performed and immediately was anticipating the best performance, which sace6 definitely delivered just that and more.
It was also my first time at Mercury Lounge, a venue I have heard so much about, especially being that of 250 capacity, allowing for a more intimate show to be performed there. For this tour specifically, I feel like Mercury Lounge was the perfect venue reflecting that of the new album brutalist by sace6. The album itself is a storybook with each song perfectly transitioning into one another, making it so you never want to stop listening to the album. Personally, I knew since the moment it dropped that it definitely was going to be an album I constantly had on repeat. Each song itself has its own set of charm, including heavy guitars and melodic harmonies between the lead singer Sace and Noah, who is often on guitar, adding intense screams. Most importantly, their drummer, Tyler, adds crazy drum fills that are sure to get you up and dancing.
Arriving at the venue, I met the sweetest girl ever named Brielle. It was her first time seeing sace6, and she had traveled all the way from home to New York since it had been the closest show to where she lived. She was there with her dad, who was the coolest dad ever in my opinion, getting excited himself to see Noah, especially with how insane he goes on the guitar. While we were waiting, we got to see the entire crew pass us with different amps, boxes filled to the brim with merch, etc. Sace and Noah specifically would say a quick “hello,” Noah often saying how he couldn’t believe we were outside in the heat. It was one of the hottest days yet in the city, with rain predicted to fall in the forecast. Slowly but surely, as the time for doors to open drew near, the line to get in had grown. I met several other amazing individuals on the line, too, Valentina and Michael, who were also excited to see the band perform. I also can’t forget to mention Mia, Chloe, Genesis, and Farah who I danced with all night and even waited with them after the show to see if we could thank the band for all they do and possibly get some photos. Despite never meeting any of these individuals before, I learned that we have definitely frequented the same shows, thus our paths were eventually meant to cross.
Sace was also kind enough to let us know that the band sadly had a strict in-and-out of the venue schedule since there was also going to be another show that night, right after theirs. However, this wasn’t made known to make it so fans had to feel rushed when trying to meet them; it was more so a way to communicate and inform fans that they would still try their hardest after to take photos and meet everyone individually outside of the venue. I don’t think I’ve ever met or seen a band so enamored with their fans. Sace and Noah truly love and appreciate every single one of their fans, and they’re so down to earth that regardless of whether you can see them live or you simply just stream their music, I’m sure they acknowledge any sort of support they receive.
Finally, I was inside the venue, which, trust and believe, the air conditioning was so refreshing. However, I knew that would change once the show started, especially for me with all the dancing, jumping, and headbanging I did. Once the show had started, John Harvie kept the energy high with his performance. He and his band are truly talented – the crowd was constantly on their toes, screaming their lungs out and joining in singing the chorus for one of the last songs called “Bleach (On the Rocks).” John Harvie definitely gained a new listener last night (me), especially when he was so thankful for his fans after the show. I watched in anticipation as the band members of both John Harvie and sace6 started to change out equipment for sace6’s performance. Once it had hit around 7:30, the start of the song “besotted” started. The crowd roared, singing their hearts out and dancing to the rhythm of the song. Brielle had grabbed my hand and started dancing with me, along with the other girls that I had mentioned before. The performance was electric.
The setlist ran through the entirety of brutalist with the exception of the song “devotion,” which was the encore coming off the EP “Limerence.” Between the energy of the crowd and Sace and Noah, adrenaline flourished throughout the venue. Especially when it came to the 10th song, “fabulist,” where Sace played the guitar whilst Noah screamed his lungs out, letting a fan scream along with him into the microphone. During the performance, the guitarist who played for John Harvie also partook in performing some guttural screams that hyped up the crowd even more. From start to finish, I sang my heart out, showing my gratitude to the band for a night that I truly will never forget. By the end of the show, my hair was completely messed up, but the smile I had plastered on my face stayed for the entirety of the night. It’s hard to put into words how incredible it feels to see a band that you care for so deeply succeed in the best way possible. sace6 will only go up from here, and I can’t wait to continue to see them thrive. Every single member of the band deserves credit for all the hard work they put into their music and the tour. Despite the fact that I didn’t get the opportunity to fully meet the band one-on-one, I hope that one day I can tell them how much of an impact they’ve made on the community they’ve built and how much they inspire me. I truthfully wish I could travel back in time and experience last night over and over again.
sace6 isn’t just a band, they’re truly some of the most genuine individuals out there sharing their love for music with an audience that loves and adores them.
If you can see them on tour, I highly recommend it. Tickets are selling out quickly, so grab them while you still can! For the rest of the tour dates, see below, and also listen to brutalist, as it’s definitely an album you don’t want to skip out on. <6.
