Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux’s last collaboration, PROLIFIC, is finally ours this August

Some records arrive exactly when they’re created. Others spend years lingering in the dark, gathering mythology as time passes around them. PROLIFIC, the long-awaited collaborative album from Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux, belongs firmly to the latter.

Nearly a decade after the project was originally recorded, PROLIFIC will finally arrive on August 14 via All Money In, Out Of The Blue Records, and Atlantic Records. The release lands just one day before what would’ve been Nipset Hussle’s 41st birthday, giving the moment a gravity that extends far beyond a typical album rollout. This isn’t a collection of demos pulled from hard drives or a posthumous compilation stitched together after the fact. It’s a fully realized body of work created by Hussle and Rideaux themselves, finally stepping into the light after years of waiting.

For fans of Nipsey Hussle, whose legacy has only continued to expand since his passing, the announcement feels less like a release and more like the reopening of a conversation. A chance to hear his voice in a new context. A chance to revisit a creative partnership that helped define an era of Los Angeles rap. Recorded during an extraordinary prolific 90-day run in 2017, the album captures Hussle and Rideaux in motion, two artists sharpening each other in real time as ideas bounced between studio walls and transformed into songs.

“We’re proud to present PROLIFIC, the collaborative project Nipsey created with Bino and brought to life sonically by Mixed By Ali,” says Hussle’s brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom. “We are honored to be able to release the PROLIFIC album in the exact way my brother envisioned it. This isn’t something that our team compiled together; this is the body of work Nipsey created with Bino top to bottom. He was very proud of this project, and we feel blessed to finally be able to share it with the world.”

The announcement arrives alongside the release of “Sacrifices,” a new single and visual directed by Norberto Garcia. Floating atop sparse production, pulsing low end, and hypnotic samples, the track feels like riding through Los Angeles long after midnight, windows down, conversation drifting between ambition and reflection. Bino’s effortless delivery intertwines with Nipsey’s signature clarity, creating something that feels simultaneously intimate and larger-than-life.

“Sacrifices was a masterclass of creative energy,” says Rideaux. “Minimum conversation, all hands on deck, and the unpredictable genius of James Fauntleroy. Constant flow of vibes and gems on and off record.”

There’s a certain poetry in the timing of PROLIFIC. Nipset Hussle and Bino Rideaux first joined forces in 2016 before creating the fan-favorite EP “No Pressure” the following year. At the time, neither artist could have known just how much their trajectories would shift in the years ahead. Soon after, Hussle’s Victory Lap transformed him from a beloved underground voice into one of rap’s most respected figures, earning a Grammy nomination and eventually double-platinum certification. Yet hidden alongside that rise was another chapter patiently waiting for its moment.

And that’s what makes PROLIFIC feels so significant.

The album doesn’t simply preserve a legacy; it captures a specific moment within it – a snapshot of two Los Angeles visionaries creating without the weight of hindsight. Before awards, before tragedy, before history had fully settled around their names. The songs exist in that rare space where artists are still reaching toward the future, unaware of how profoundly they’ll shape it.

Among the collection’s highlights is the previously released “Reckless (feat. Static Major),” produced by Mike & Keys and Unveiled during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles earlier this year. Much like Victory Lap did during the city’s last All-Star celebration in 2018, the release served as another reminder of how deeply intertwined Hussle’s story remains with Los Angeles itself. The track quickly earned widespread attention across Complex, Hypebeast, XXL, HotNewHipHop, and beyond, further fueling anticipation for the full project.

For Rideaux, PROLIFIC represents more than a long-awaited release. It’s a testament to friendship, collaboration, and a creative chemistry that continues to resonate years later.

“This is a project built by fellowship,” says Rideaux. “To have these records in my notes for so many years, it felt good to link up with the team to see it through. It’s an honor to have footprints alongside the greatest.”

On August 14, those footprints become visible once again. And nearly 10 years later, after the sessions began, PROLIFIC finally gets to tell its story.
