The Maine has shared the official music video for “3:31,” the latest visual from their recently released album Joy Next Door.
The premise of the video is simple, but effective. The band arrives to their set to shoot the video to discover that their singer, John O’Callaghan, is nowhere to be found. Rather than calling it quits, Kennedy Brock, Jared Monaco, Garrett Nickelsen, and Pat Kirch make the most of the situation and carry on without him, turning an unexpected setback into something memorable. The result is a fun, tongue-in-cheek video that reflects the band’s personality while also embracing the unpredictability that can come with life.
It has been a landmark year for the band with the arrival of their tenth studio album and the recent completion of their first headlining tour in nearly two years, their most successful tour to date. The release of the video adds another chapter, and they are showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. The band is set to embark on another headline tour of the U.S. before heading to Europe for their biggest healine tour across the continent to date.
“The Tour Next Door,” which features 11 dates across the U.S., will feature two sets from the band, one that is more stripped back while the other is “nothing but heaters including more from Joy Next Door and all of your favorites.” Rather than revisiting their usual major-market stops, the band plans to play neighboring cities and secondary markets instead. The tour features support from Hellogoodbye and In Color on select dates.
The beloved Arizona band’s tenth studio album was released in the middle of their “I Love You But I Chose The Maine…” tour, and many of the favorites that have emerged from the album did not make the setlist. More tracks from the album are expected to have their time to shine on this run, and hopefully the release of the “3:31” music video is a sign that it will make the setlist this time around.
