The Rolling Stones return with “Jealous Lover,” another taste of their upcoming album

More than sixty years after their debut, one of the most influential bands in rock history is back with a new song that previews their upcoming album set for release this July. New music and a sound that reconnects with the British group’s rhythm and blues roots.

The track, titled “Jealous Lover,” will be released on June 26 and serves as the latest single taken from Foreign Tongues, the band’s forthcoming album due on July 10. Recorded in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in London, the record has been described as a return to the rhythm and blues influences that helped shape the Rolling Stones’ sound.

According to information released by the band, “Jealous Lover” features contributions from Steve Winwood on keyboards and was produced by Andrew Watt, who once again oversees the group’s latest studio effort. The single offers an early glimpse into what promises to be another ambitious chapter in the Stones’ long and celebrated career.

The release of Foreign Tongues marks another step in the Rolling Stones’ artistic journey, demonstrating their ability to evolve while remaining true to their identity. Produced by Andrew Watt, the album brings together Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood alongside longtime collaborators Darryl Jones, Steve Jordan, and Matt Clifford. One of the project’s most notable features is the presence of Charlie Watts, who can be heard on one of his final studio recordings. The album also includes contributions from several high-profile guest musicians, including Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, and Chad Smith. Blending rock, blues, soul, and contemporary influences, the record showcases the band’s continued willingness to explore new musical territory without losing touch with the legacy that made them one of the most iconic acts in rock history.

Among the fourteen tracks featured on Foreign Tongues is “You Know I’m No Good,” a reinterpretation of the Amy Winehouse classic originally released on her acclaimed 2006 album Back to Black. The inclusion of the song further highlights the Rolling Stones’ long-standing connection to soul and rhythm and blues, paying tribute to one of the most celebrated voices of modern British music.
