How prepared are you for Colours of Ostrava?

With Colours of Ostrava festival quickly approaching, travel and stay needs to be discussed – no matter if you are travelling in or staying on site. There are a few options regarding your stay in Ostrava, including camping, ‘glamping’, hotels, or driving in every day.

If you are choosing to camp, travel could not be easier to and from the festival site. On the official Colours of Ostrava website, you can find a section to buy all camping variations here. The options include the ‘basic campsite’, the ‘chill village,’ and the ‘tent inn’.

The ‘basic campsite’ is very standard – you bring your own tent and whatever you may need for the weekend and set it all up yourself. It’s very standard, but nice and cheap for larger groups of friends to enjoy together.

The ‘chill village’ is where you can find your glamping. This includes spacious tents, pre-built, with everything you may need in there already. The pass also gives you access to private toilets and showers, and lots more add-ons for you to enjoy. Definitely a more pricey option, but it’s worth the money if you don’t want to commute every day, and if you want a nicer overall festival experience.

The last camping option is the ‘tent inn’, a nice middle ground between the other two options. While on the pricier side of camping at a festival, you get the tent pre-made. This is great for people who don’t own a tent already or don’t fancy carrying it for a long journey and then having to set it up – it’s already there! It doesn’t come with quite as many benefits as glamping, but still a great option.

If you fancy staying at a hotel instead, the festival has a page here, full of advice and hotels you might be able to stay at. These hotels are divided into smaller subsections, including all of the contact information – email or number – for you to figure out where you’d like to stay.

If you are driving to the festival – whether from home or from a hotel – the festival suggests you park outside of the city centre and walk or take public transport to the site. There is no parking directly at the festival venue, and people usually find it difficult to find spots in the centre, so give yourself extra time to find a spot when traveling in.

Public transport will be on for longer into the night over the duration of the festival, so everyone can take a little more time to get home after the music fades into the darkness. Alternatively, the festival is once again partnering with Heimstanden to operate buses to nearby cities. Transport will be provided to Ostrava-Poruba, Karviná, Orlová, Haví?ov, and Frýdek-Místek. Timetables and tickets for the buses are now live here (for the timetable) and here (for the tickets).

No matter how you may spend the festival, it will be a blast regardless. Make sure to enjoy your time, stay safe, and make the most of the acts performing. Have fun!!
