Country music’s beloved $10 Cowboy, Charley Crockett, stepped out with a new record, CLOVIS, this past Friday, a remarkable 17th album to add to his ever-expanding catalog, available now on all digital streaming platforms through a partnership with Atlantic Outpost. In addition to streaming, Crockett has also released signed and unsigned CDs available for order through the official album website, ClovisOfficial.com
CLOVIS arrives on the heels of an ambitious 16-month stretch that saw the country iconoclast unveil four full-length LPs back-to-back, becoming the 17th record in his discography since his 2015 debut, A Stolen Jewel – a feat that feels almost unfathomable in a career only just surpassing the decade mark.
Co-produced by Crockett himself alongside his longtime creative kindred spirit, Grammy Award-winning producer Shooter Jennings, the album was etched into tape in Clovis, New Mexico, largely beside Crockett’s trusted touring band, The Blue Drifters, a collection of polished musicians who continue to widen the musical landscape he inhabits.
The record carries the fingerprints of history, recorded inside the legendary Norman Petty Studios, whose walls once echoed with the voices of Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, and countless architects of American music. It’s a fitting backdrop for Crockett’s songwriting, which has always carried one boot planted firmly in the present and the other wandering somewhere through the golden dust of country music’s past.
Crockett unveiled the record earlier this week with a heartfelt message to fans across social media:
“Happy 4th of July week y’all. Sometimes you need to fight. Goliath vs Goliath. On this 250th birthday for America, I’m reminded that freedom is something you continue to fight for. A war that never ends. Today, we win one battle. Clovis is out 4th of July weekend on Atlantic Outpost. Let’s ride.”
The album unfolds across 14 tracks destined to carve out their own place within Crockett’s ever-growing legacy. Standouts include “Country Music,” which wanders from homegrown front-porch storytelling into a sharp critique on industry culture, “Image of a Woman,” which gently stretches the framework Crockett has built through swelling organs, resonant piano passages, and his unmistakable weathered baritone, while “Waylon Rides Again” rounds out the sound Crockett is renowned for, carrying an undeniable outlaw spirit, intertwining loose electric guitars with a call-and-response refrain that feels born for crowded dance halls and open-air amphitheaters. They aren’t simply songs; they feel like campfire stories carried across state lines, patiently waiting to find new life onstage.
To celebrate the arrival of CLOVIS, Crockett performed an exclusive release show at Old Saloon in Emigrant, Montana, unveiling the record live from beginning to end. The performance sold out in just half an hour despite being announced only the night before – another reminder that Crockett’s audience seems willing to follow him anywhere the road bends. Fans will have countless opportunities to hear these songs breathe beyond the studio throughout the remainder of 2026, as Crockett continues his headline run coast-to-coast across the summer and fall, carrying CLOVIS from dusty highways to city skylines, one stage at a time.
