Alex Warren is one of those artists who have jumped to a big following almost immediately. It’s always a joy to watch an artist grow in their journey, especially when the time difference between the two shows I see them at is in such a short time frame. Alex Warren headlined the USCellular – now named the T-Mobile Stage – last year at Summerfest, and this year he moved upwards to the American Insurance Amphitheatre. His show theatrics have escalated, and his fans continue to show up for him. I met a fan at the barricade who was dressed as the Lorax and their boyfriend was the tree. They told me they were at the Chicago show and had to see him again just a few hours North. They were the very first people in line, which started at 5 a.m. It was a very hot day, and they were keeping cool by staying hydrated. Apparently, during the show, the tree proposed and the Lorax is now happily engaged. Big congrats to the happy couple! While it’s not something I got to witness, he has introduced what is referred to as “the button,” where a lucky fan gets brought up on stage to push, and confetti explodes. Everyone comes with signs and banners hoping to be that lucky person. 

The first opener was Emei, and I was not approved to photograph her set.

The second opener was Noah Cyrus, and yes, her older sister is Miley Cyrus. The family resemblance is there. But don’t let that define her because she is her own person in the music industry. My first day and training show at The Rave/Eagles Club was actually for her back in 2023. Crazy how the world decides to connect dots in one’s life. I only witnessed her as an opener that night, and it was in one of the smaller rooms. Imagine my heart getting to witness her conquer one of the biggest stages in Milwaukee. She came out slowly, and her entrance was subtle. But that didn’t stop the audience from cheering in anticipation. Her vocals were quieter but clear and distinct, pairing especially well with her dancing as she swayed around the stage. She was graceful and beautiful as she connected with those in the room.

The room was very full by the time I had returned to the photo pit for Alex Warren. Everyone was chatting and singing along to the house music. A last-minute note was given that there would be some pyrotechnics in the first song. From the very start, there was a tension in the air of excitement. The room was ready; I could feel it. The band slowly took the stage, the room went dark, and then the stage came to life. A short video was shown introducing Alex to the room, then there were some quick fireworks as he took over the stage. He waltzed around singing and owning the stage for everyone. He went up and down the catwalk, interacting with his bandmates, and grinning from ear to ear. He is truly one of the artists who makes it clear that he wouldn’t be anywhere without his fans, his second family. You can feel the amount of love from his massive smile, and it is truly a show that you did not want to miss out on – the energy, the production, the community, the vibes, all immaculate. Unfortunately, the tour has already wrapped up, but I’m sure we can expect a whole lot more from him this year.
