Interviews by Uma: Major Moment opens for Plush in upcoming tour

Major Moment is about to kick off a two-month nationwide tour opening for Plush.

Major Moment is about to kick off a new tour, with an upcoming new album as the support band for Plush!

Uma talked to Sasha and Andrey of Major Moment about the hottest tour collaboration of the year, and we got ready to sit down with the musicians of Plush.

Two of our favorite bands — maybe our two favorite bands — are hitting the road together, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Not just that, but in a couple of weeks we’ll also hit the road to rock along with them in Maryland and Pennsylvania. This will be our first multi-show trip.

Some of you may recall we attempted a multi-show trip with The Warning in 2024, but a hurricane in Atlanta had other ideas.

Starting on August 13 and running through October 9, Plush will make 30 stops across the country in support of their new album, Mass Hysteria, which officially drops September 18. Also on Aug. 13, the band’s new song, “Animalistic,” will debut.

More on Plush and our upcoming talk with them below.

But first, on top of the exciting news of a new album and new tour for Plush, the opening band is Boston-based Major Moment. And guess what? They also have new music and an upcoming album on the way.

Band founders Andrey Borzykin and Sasha Razumova have become friends with Uma, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that they gave us a little tour preview!

Here’s “Promises,” one of our favorite songs so far, released from the upcoming album, In Love and War. We dare you not to have this chorus stuck in your head for days.

This tour is a big deal for Major Moment, the first multi-state expedition the band will be taking since Sasha and Andrey decided to commit themselves full-time to the band as a job and career!

Andrey told us that life as a full-time touring band has been a challenge, but they’re working hard at it!

“I’ve been running around trying to get the car in the touring appropriate condition for the past few days,” he told us. “Plus, signing a thousand CDs takes time, ordering merch takes time, trying to figure out what else we can do to make this tour work out in our favor!”

What follows is Uma’s mini-interview with Andrey and Sasha from Major Moment. Enjoy, and go visit their socials and give them some support!

Interviews by Uma: Major Moment gets ready to hit the road!

Uma Szczesny: How did the two bands find each other, and how did this tour come about?

Sasha & Andrey: We got an opportunity to open for Plush when they played in New Bedford, MA, in July 2025, and although we didn’t have a lot of time to chat, these ladies were very nice to us, and I guess they also enjoyed our performance and vibes. Earlier this year, we got an email from their camp asking if we would be interested in opening for them on their two-month-long tour. We thought it would be a great idea, and are excited to hit the road, meet a lot of new people and our existing fans, finally visit new states for us, like WV, MN, IA, TX, LA, and MS, as well as revisit the ones we’ve played before!

Uma: Do you have a favorite Plush song?

Sasha: “Run”

Andrey: “I Hope It Hurts”

Uma: Tell us about your upcoming album — favorite song, favorite song to play, any news you care to share about drop date, etc.

Sasha and Andrey: We’re very proud of our second album, In Love & War: it’s very recognizably Major Moment, but still somehow different enough from The Pain That Makes Us Grow. It started as demos we were working on while finishing our first album, and it evolved from our experience working on it. It’s a new chapter for us and is an important milestone artistically speaking. There are a few things we tried that we haven’t before: the breakdowns are heavy, some songs are dancey, we have a song that has a rap part, and we even have a love song with a happy ending on the record (shocker, haha).

It’s hard to choose a favorite song cause they all mean something to us, and we like them all; otherwise, we wouldn’t include them on the record. There was one song we didn’t 100% love, and for the first time ever, we left it out.

There is no official drop date on streaming yet; we’ll keep releasing singles from the album way into 2027. But, as always, our most dedicated fans can hear the album much earlier when they pre-order it on CD and vinyl, with a bunch of cool bonuses from us: We’re gonna have CDs with the new album with us on tour, wink wink. So if you want to hear the album in full months ahead of its release, make sure to stop by at the merch table and pick one up!

Uma: For Plush fans who may never have heard of Major Moment, what can they expect from a Major Moment live show?

Sasha and Andrey: A high-energy, fun performance that is honest and contagious in its nature, an experience that blends genres and cultures, and is designed to connect with the audience on a deeper level through music as the universal language. If you’re leaving our show not wanting to see us again or find out more about our story, we didn’t do our job well. Luckily, that just doesn’t happen.

Uma Szczesny: How and why did Major Moment choose Purple as their main band color?

Sasha and Andrey: Purple chose us! It was totally organic. Last year, Sasha wanted to dye her hair and couldn’t decide on the color at first (besides being blonde once, she never dyed her hair with color before). After browsing through a ton of pictures, it was obvious that purple is the color… and it was a perfect match! So then it slowly started to affect our stage outfits, then merch, and now it’s kind of our official brand color, which is honestly awesome!

Looking Ahead at Our Road Trip and Plush Interview: In a couple of weeks, we’ll be hitting the road to follow the Plush/Major Moment tour for a few days. We’ll try to post some pics and video from the road. Uma is also building some Major Moment bracelets to sell/give away, and Sasha and Andrey mentioned that she might be able to help them out at the merch table if things aren’t too crazy, so look for us! Also, we just heard back from Plush management that there’s a short in-person interview with the band being arranged. We’re unclear right now when or how that will happen, but obviously that would be the coolest thing. Again, keep your eye on these pages and on our other socials for more! See you on the road!

Finally, so many thanks to Lizzy at Idyllic Imagery, who let us use her incredible photos of Major Moment, both shots filmed at the Palladium in Massachusetts. Her work is amazing, and you should go right away and subscribe to her Instagram here: IDYLLIC IMAGERY
