NGHTMRE and Cyclops have teamed up for “Computah,” a new dubstep single out now via NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations label.
The track brings together two producers known for heavy, crowd-focused electronic music while pulling in original vocals from TikTok creator Julius Mondragon. Built around Mondragon’s viral prank phrase, “Computah” takes an internet-born hook and rebuilds it for festival systems, turning the catchphrase into a full-scale dubstep anthem.
“Computah” leans into the collision between viral humor and heavy bass music, weaving together 8-bit melodies, pitch-bending leads, crowd chants, claps, laser-like sub-bass, and warped drops. The result is playful without losing its weight, designed for the kind of live setting where a simple phrase can become a full-crowd reaction.
NGHTMRE and Cyclops debuted the track live during the Fourth of July weekend at Pacha New York, where the two were joined by Mondragon. The release arrives as both producers continue major runs through the summer festival and club circuit.
For NGHTMRE, “Computah” follows the deluxe version of his sophomore album MINDFULL, which featured collaborations with A$AP Ferg, Flowdan, Crankdat, Blanke, Kompany, GorillaT, WINK, Sully, and Crooked Bangs. Across more than a decade, the New York-based producer has built a sound that moves through hip-hop, bass music, and wider electronic territory, often using unexpected samples, field recordings, and vocal moments to push his production into new spaces.
NGHTMRE is also in the middle of his international “Summer MMXXVI Tour,” with upcoming appearances and headline dates tied to Nocturnal Wonderland, Lost Lands, Rampage Open Air, Let It Roll, Smukfest, High Stakes Music Fest, Global Dance Fest, Bass Canyon, Breakaway Music Festival, Wobbleland, Time Nightclub, The Armory, and Silo.
Cyclops brings his own heavy low-end and experimental approach to the collaboration. The Boston-based producer has become known in the EDM community for combining dubstep aggression with viral humor and left-field ideas, making “Computah” a natural fit for his catalog.
His previous releases and collaborations include music with Wooli, Boogie T, Flux Pavilion, and Tynan, along with remixes for Seven Lions, RIOT TEN, and ATLiens. Cyclops recently hosted his sold-out “Gods & Monsters” series show at The Midway and continues a North American run that includes Beyond Wonderland Chicago, EDC Las Vegas, Forbidden Kingdom, The Caverns, Das Energi, ILLFEST, and Metamorphosis.
Mondragon’s catchphrase has already reached massive audiences on TikTok, with some uploads pulling millions of views. On “Computah,” that viral familiarity becomes the centerpiece of a track built for the stage, taking a moment from social media and giving it the scale of a festival drop.
“Computah” is available to stream now across all platforms via Gud Vibrations.
