Ok, I’m going to be so honest with all of you when I say this: I don’t really listen to Miss May I, so if you haven’t either, we are both going into this blindly — here is what I did my research on and listened to.
Obviously, I have heard of Miss May I, but I wanted to learn more about them. They formed back in 2007 in Troy, Ohio. After a year, they signed with Rise Records and released their debut album, Apologies Are for the Weak. Could fact the album was released while the group was still in high school. Ever since then, it has been history.
Current band members:
- Levi Benton (Lead Vocalist)
- Jerod Boyd (Drums)
- Ryan Neff (Bass Guitar)
- Elisha Mullins(Guitarist)
Now let’s get into the new song and album. So, No Place for Me was announced on July 10 with the single “Sanctuary.” Now I don’t want to ruin anything for you, so just as I blindly walked into some masterpieces, you’re going to have to do the same…
Just kidding! “Sanctuary” was released on July 10, 2026. The song is powerful emotionally, with lyrics that will hit you. When listening to it for the first time, I didn’t fully understand the lyrics until I played it on repeat. “Sanctuary” feels like a story of you wanting to feel safe with a person or place, but it’s being destroyed by your own actions. It’s a beautiful yet sad song that makes you take a step back and maybe realize something you have done — or are still doing.
No Place for Me sounds like you are going to stock up on tissues before it comes out on October 10, and please go give Miss May I some love.
