Nashville-based heavy music artist Showing Teeth has released her debut EP, “A Fate Worse Than Loneliness,” out now via Republic Records and Spinefarm.
The project arrives alongside the music video for new single “Make It Out,” giving the rising heavy music disruptor another sharp introduction to a sound built around anxiety, distortion, melody, and catharsis. Showing Teeth has quickly carved out a space that feels unpredictable without losing its emotional center, pulling from extreme music, metalcore, industrial tension, and a Southern gothic visual world that makes the project feel immediately distinct.
“Make It Out” captures that balance clearly. The track moves from a glitchy riff into a buoyant palm-muted groove, with airy keys shaping the verses before the distortion closes in. Lyrically, the song wrestles with self-defeat and the fear of never escaping the patterns that keep pulling you back under. Rather than hiding that struggle, Showing Teeth brings it to the surface with honesty and force.
The new video matches the song’s tension with gritty, claustrophobic performance footage that mirrors the track’s internal pressure. It is anxious, catchy, heavy, and direct, giving “Make It Out” the kind of visual weight that fits the EP’s larger emotional world.
A Fate Worse Than Loneliness was previewed by “Bad Exchanges,” a brutal single that is nearing one million total streams, and “Rip,” which has passed more than one million streams. Both tracks helped establish Showing Teeth as one of the more compelling new voices moving through heavy music right now, balancing feral vocal performances with melodies and textures that feel just as important as the impact.
The EP’s title fits the world Showing Teeth is building. Across the project, she unravels self-doubt, alienation, anxiety, and isolation through songs that crush and open up in equal measure. The music can feel violent and jagged one moment, then strangely vulnerable the next. That contrast is where the project finds its identity.
Showing Teeth first gained attention through TikTok, where she began posting heavy music content, vocal practice clips, and demos often recorded in the front seat of her Honda Accord. After settling in Nashville, she began collaborating with producer Dan Book, multi-instrumentalist Zach Munowitz, and Periphery drummer and co-founder Matt Halpern. In late 2025, “Labyrinth” introduced her to a wider audience and has since generated more than 2.1 million Spotify streams.
That momentum has continued into 2026. Along with the release of “A Fate Worse Than Loneliness,” Showing Teeth has joined Republic Records and Spinefarm in an uncommon label partnership and has already earned major live opportunities, including opening for Bring Me The Horizon in Manchester, appearing on stage with Motionless In White, and being selected to support PRESIDENT on the band’s sold-out North American Campaign 2026.
That tour is already underway and will bring Showing Teeth to Denver on September 26 at Summit Music Hall with PRESIDENT. For Colorado fans, it will be an early chance to see these songs live as Showing Teeth steps fully into this new chapter.
In tandem with the EP release, Showing Teeth has also launched an official online store featuring her first merch drop, including a “Bad Exchanges” camo hat, Labyrinth long-sleeve shirt, and CD version of “A Fate Worse Than Loneliness.”
