Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Jhené Aiko released a long-awaited album, Westside Whimsy, which features several notable West Coast artists, including Kendrick Lamar on “So Good,” Ab-Soul on “Love Bomb,” and Tyga on “Like, Whatever.”
Across its 20 tracks, Westside Whimsy draws inspiration from Aiko’s Southern California upbringing while exploring heartbreak, healing, and personal growth. Additional features include Larry June on “Neighbors” and OHMA on “Golden Coast.”
Aiko announced the album on September 9, three days before its release, ending a six-year wait for a new full-length album. This album follows Chilombo, which earned three Grammy Award nominations.
Westside Whimsy marks the beginning of a new chapter in her career while still having her reflective storytelling and ethereal sound that distinguish her music.
