GRAMMY® Award-winning pop singer and songwriter Kim Petras just released the deluxe version of her critically acclaimed album Detour, titled Detour Rare N’ Deluxe. With five tracks teased over the past year, Kim Petras just offered the fans what they wanted. Alongside the release of the deluxe, Kim Petras released a music video for “Autobahn” directed by Neve Abcari.
“Autobahn,” considered the long-lost sister of “Jeep,” explores this time a darker, more complicated side of the album’s themes. Kim explores the impulse to get in the car and leave it all behind, even if the escape means driving headfirst into oncoming traffic.

For Detour Rare N’ Deluxe, Petras and Creative Director Eli Sheppard collaborated to build a visual world that reflects the unpredictable road of her career. Escaping the polished pop aesthetic, they opted for something raw and lived-in, with much of the campaign shot spontaneously on an iPhone 4. In the same vein, receipts, parking tickets, and other found ephemera became part of the storytelling, replacing traditional text graphics with objects that feel personal and tangible. Instead of glamorous cars, roadwork and construction capture the album’s idea of a detour shaped by traffic, grit, and roadblocks rather than scenic views. Petras also took the reins on styling, blending vintage pieces, pop silhouettes, and nostalgic trends sourced from European second-hand boutiques, online resale collectives, and her own wardrobe archives.
Kim Petras had a busy year, especially with the success of her song “Jeep.” Kim performed it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, extending the visual world of the song’s music video onto the late-night stage. The track has also found support across social media, with friends and collaborators including Charli XCX, Lorde, and MUNA sharing their love for “Jeep.” She also appeared in Europe for numerous reasons, such as DJing at the renowned German nightclub Berghain or assisting to fashions shows in Milan and Paris. She also surprised fans with a surprise appearance on Charli XCX’s “Music, Fashion, Film Tour” in New York to perform “Unlock It.”

The year is not over for Kim, as she will host a very special event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, performing songs from Detour Rare N’ Deluxe and speaking about the project. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
