The genre-defying artist, producer, and songwriter announced his forthcoming album, Pirouette, arriving November 11 through Interscope Records, and the title feels fitting for someone whose music rarely holds one shape long enough to settle. Following the scale of his critically acclaimed major-label debut, star, the new project leans further into romance and expression without abandoning the electronic force and underground experimentation that first pulled listeners into his orbit. The album is wrapped in hand-drawn artwork from acclaimed artist Yoshitaka Amano, whose delicate visual language almost feels prewritten into the universe surrounding 2hollis. “He felt very close to the kind of character I have always drawn – as though he had stepped directly out of one of my paintings,” Amano shares, making the collaboration feel less like an artist interpreting 2hollis and more like recognizing someone who had already been living inside his work.

The first fragments of Pirouette arrived through “Hurt” and now “Sex,” two songs that approach the same evolving world from different angles. “Hurt” opened the era this summer as 2hollis’ first new music following star, carrying the darker, sharper edge listeners have become accustomed to, while “Sex” lets a more euphoric tenderness come rushing through the production. The latter feels excited rather than jaded, pushing EDM-fused pop toward something bright, youthful, and almost disarmingly sincere. His 2025 album star pushed that ascent into a different atmosphere, landing at No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Dance Albums chart before sold-out North American and European runs and major festival debuts at Coachella and Lollapalooza followed.
