On September 19, 2026, indie pop legend LP (Laura Pergolizzi) arrived in Albany, New York, to rock the stage at Empire Live for their “Not All Is Lost” tour. This tour is a special one, as it celebrates the 10-year anniversary of LP’s massively successful album Lost on You along with the release of their new studio album Room 12. With no openers and a promise of two jam-packed sets, including a mix of old and new music and Lost on You in its entirety, fans were buzzing with excitement as they streamed into the venue to hear all of their favorite LP hits live.

Shortly after I entered the venue, the lights dimmed, and the band entered the stage. As the opening chords for “Chasing & Waiting” began to play, LP entered the stage and was met with an uproar of excited screams. Dressed in an iconic black cowboy hat, LP absolutely stunned the crowd with their vocals as they tore through the first set. LP picked an incredible selection of old and new songs for this first set, including “Love is All I Have” off their new album Room 12 and “Tokyo Sunrise” off of their iconic older album Forever for Now. This first half of the show really showcased LP’s immense vocal range and versatile music styles.

After exiting the stage for a very brief break, LP returned to the stage to kick off their massively popular album Lost on You in its entirety. As the iconic hums for “Muddy Waters” started to play, I was instantly flashed back to being a teenager and discovering LP through this song being used on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. However, the best has yet to come as the band begins to play the opening chords to the album’s title track, “Lost on You.” This was certainly a track the crowd was heavily anticipating, as they absolutely lost their minds as LP gave the track a rockstar performance.

Sitting at over 1.2 BILLION streams on Spotify alone, “Lost on You” is a song that I’ve been desperately waiting to hear live for the past 10 years. Hearing “Lost on You” and the whole album in its entirety was everything I could have ever wanted and more. LP is such an incredible vocalist, and hearing them hit all of those notes live in person added such an incredible life to an already legendary album. As I looked around the room, I was met with the sight of many older LGBTQ+ couples embracing each other as they sang along to each song. As a 24-year-old queer woman myself, this was such a touching sight to see. Everyone in that room felt like one big family, and it gave me such a beautiful sense of hope for the future. To be able to fill a room with so much love and warmth really shows you how amazing of an artist LP has proven themselves to be.
