Bayside have released “Premium Selections,” the fourth and final EP in their curated B-sides collection series.
The new collection was assembled by guitarist Jack O’Shea and features “Saddest Song,” another previously unreleased digital B-side from the band’s 2011 album Killing Time. The song had only been available on vinyl before this series brought it into wider release.
Since forming in Queens in 2000, Bayside have built a catalog around emotional clarity, punk energy, and the kind of hooks that make heartbreak feel sharp instead of passive. Anthony Raneri, Jack O’Shea, Nick Ghanbarian, and Chris Guglielmo have spent more than two decades turning personal wreckage into songs that still hit with immediacy.
“Saddest Song” leans into that strength. The track opens with delicate acoustic guitar and Raneri’s instantly recognizable voice before building into a larger full-band release. Its slow rise gives the song room to breathe, letting the melancholy settle before the arrangement expands into something heavier and more cathartic.
“I remember the song being one that we had a hard time establishing an identity for on the record, and it really just became a vibe or a mood,” O’Shea said. “Having a very intimate controlled verse followed by big crushing wall-of-sound part filled with dozens of layered parts gave this one its life.”
The release closes out a summer-long series of band-curated EPs, each selected by a different member and paired with artwork designed by that member. Bayside opened the series with “Anywhere But Here,” curated by Guglielmo and featuring “Monster.” They followed with “Proxima Centauri B,” assembled by Raneri and featuring “Battle Scars,” and “Bark At the Moon,” curated by Ghanbarian and featuring “Don’t Come Easy.”
With “Premium Selections,” O’Shea brings the series to a close by pulling from Killing Time, Walking Wounded, and the band’s self-titled album. The EP includes “Saddest Song,” “Sick Sick Sick,” “They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns,” “Dear Tragedy,” and “Killing Time.”
The timing lines up with Bayside’s fall 2026 headline tour, which is underway now with support from Driveways and Grave Secrets. The run kicked off September 15 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and continues through October 10 in Louisville, Kentucky, with additional festival appearances including Riot Fest and Four Chord Music Festival.
The band’s current run gives the B-sides series a fitting live backdrop. Bayside have always been a band whose deeper cuts carry real weight with fans, and these collections treat that history as something active rather than archival.
