Rolling Quartz, a Korean rock band, has come to Albuquerque once again on their second United States tour, “My Turn Tour.” The band has made a stir in the Asian music scene, and their music has spilled over to the U.S., with fans of heavy metal rock heading to their concerts in major cities. Classic rock is so strong in the U.S., and when a band from another country can rock, they get noticed.

Rolling Quartz originated in Seoul, Korea, during the pandemic in 2020, and they were formed out of two bands, Rolling Girlz and Rose Quartz. They became a social media sensation, so by the time the pandemic was over in December of 2020, they debuted their first single, “Blaze,” which had a video released soon after. In 2022, they released their debut album, titled Fighting. The album became the first Korean indie band to chart on iTunes as the Top 5 U.S. rock album.

The band entered the stage with each member coming to center stage, bowing to a cheering crowd; their first three songs were “RE.BOLD,” “Seven Nation Army,” and “BIRDS.” Then they performed their tour song “My Turn,” and then they performed their debut song, “Blaze.” They performed 12 more songs, some originals and some covers, ending with their latest single, “Romantist.”
