The new American boy band Soulidified, which rose to fame on the Netflix series Building the Band, wrapped up its very first tour in Paris! Last night at Les Étoiles, Shade Jenifer, Malik Heard, Bradley Rittmann, and Landon Boyce performed their final concert, just a few months after meeting on the show.
And for this final date, the energy was definitely there. The four members repeated several times throughout the evening that they were determined to make the most of their last moment on stage together.
It has to be said that just a few months ago, they didn’t even know each other. On stage, however, their chemistry already seems well established. They tease each other, joke between songs, and don’t hesitate to whisper to one another after hitting a high note. They harmonize, then give each other room for a solo — and it all seems to work pretty well.
The concert kicks off with “What’s Your Name?” before moving through a mix of original songs and covers, from “Finesse” by Bruno Mars to Usher’s “U Remind Me,” and Miguel’s “Sure Thing.” The group also performs several of their own singles, including “Audacity,” “Love Ain’t Leaving, “Love Like This,” and “One & Only,” even bringing a fan on stage and singing the song directly into her eyes.
The songs are accompanied by carefully rehearsed choreography, while the four young men constantly seek to maintain a connection with their audience.
The crowd, particularly young, was fully engaged throughout the evening. Soulidified clearly plays into this sense of closeness: the members take the time to look at fans both in the front rows and up in the balcony, grab their phones to give them a personalized moment, and interact with them as much as possible.
They also don’t hesitate to tease each other. At one point, as a joke, the other members encourage Malik Heard to take off his shirt, in honor of their final date.
To close out the concert, Soulidified performed “Man Ain’t Me,” a particularly special track since it was officially released that very same day! They also threw T-shirts into the crowd!
While the group already masters the codes of a boy band, with choreography, harmonies, and constant interaction with the audience, we would also love to see them explore a more acoustic setting — an exercise that could reveal another side of their chemistry and musical identity.
From Building the Band to Les Étoiles, Soulidified will have crossed, in just a few months, the line between a group formed for a TV show and a true performing group that now takes the stage in a different venue every night — sold out, no less.
