Princess Goes share new single “Heart 2 Heart” Ahead of “3”

Princess Goes have shared “Heart 2 Heart,” a high intensity new single and visualizer from “3”, the band’s upcoming full length album out October 30.

Princess Goes have shared “Heart 2 Heart,” a new single and visualizer from their upcoming album 3, out October 30.

The New York City trio, made up of Michael C. Hall, Matt Katz-Bohen, and Peter Yanowitz, continue to stretch the edges of their sound with a track that pushes the album’s already wide range into heavier, more volatile territory. Where previous singles “Sincere Chroma,” “Stranger,” and “French Kiss” moved through ethereal synth textures, hazy dancefloor energy, and flashes of ’90s grunge and Britpop, “Heart 2 Heart” hits with explosive drums, guitar, and a more urgent sense of motion.

The single arrives with an official visualizer, giving the song a stark visual companion while keeping the focus on the band’s high-intensity shift. Built around a rising pulse and Hall’s commanding vocal presence, “Heart 2 Heart” gives 3 another distinct shape ahead of its release.

Princess Goes have never been easy to file into one clean category. Hall, best known for “Dexter,” “Six Feet Under,” and “Lazarus,” brings a theatrical vocal gravity to the project, while Katz-Bohen, whose credits include Blondie and Cyndi Lauper, and Yanowitz, known for work with The Wallflowers and Morningwood, build the band’s shifting instrumental world around him.

The trio first met over a decade ago while performing in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on Broadway. What began as the three musicians pretending to be a band onstage eventually became the real thing. After the show closed, they started writing together, first with songs like “Love American Style” and “Vicious,” before the project grew into its own strange chemistry.

That chemistry remains central to 3. The album follows the group’s debut EP and two previous full-length releases, and the new material suggests a band still expanding rather than settling into a fixed identity. “Heart 2 Heart” adds a more physical edge to the record, giving its synth-driven atmosphere a sharper impact.

The band’s recent singles have each opened a different door into the album. “Sincere Chroma” leaned into the atmospheric side of Princess Goes, “Stranger” blurred grunge, Britpop, and dance-rock influences, and “French Kiss” moved with a sleek, late-night pulse. “Heart 2 Heart” brings the most forceful turn so far, trading hypnotic club movement for something more explosive.

Taken together, the singles point toward an album built on contrast: polished and jagged, electronic and physical, theatrical and direct. Princess Goes have always thrived in that kind of in-between space, and 3 appears to push further into it.

3 is out October 30. “Heart 2 Heart” is available now.
