Phoebe Bridgers has unveiled a special three-song performance for Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theatre, directed by Lance Oppenheim, featuring appearances from boygenius bandmates Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, alongside longtime producer Ethan Gruska.
Filmed at the historic West Village theater following three sold-out nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the intimate session features stripped-back performances of songs from Bridgers’ latest album, Lost Weekend, as well as “On Video,” an original song from Oppenheim’s film PRIMETIME.
The set opened with “On Video,” performed alongside Gruska, before Bridgers reunited with Baker and Dacus for “Haunted” and “Lost Boys.” The performance marks a special on-camera reunion for the boygenius trio, who last performed together for Saturday Night Live in November 2023.
The session arrives alongside Bridgers’ acting debut in “PRIMETIME,” which is now playing in U.S. theaters. “On Video” is also featured on the film’s official soundtrack. Produced by A24, A24 Music, and Cherry Lane Theatre, the Sound Check series brings artists to the historic stage for intimate performances in a stripped-back setting. Previous installments have featured Tame Impala and Blood Orange, with additional performances available on A24’s YouTube channel.
