The Los Angeles-based punk rock band The Linda Lindas brought incredible energy and excitement to the Brooklyn Steel on October 8 as part of their “Gotta Get Out Tour.” The opening bands included Um Jennifer? and Deux Visages.
They opened their set with the title track “Gotta Get Out,” setting the tone for a lively and engaging show while showing their chemistry on stage. Other songs included some of their biggest hits, “Growing Up,” “Racist, Sexist Boy,” and “Oh!” They are an incredible live band with an infectious energy that had the audience hooked from the moment they hit the stage. If you are looking for good punk music and a fun show, this is a band you want to see live!
The group consistently uses its platform to encourage civic engagement through music while urging fans to get involved. Before their set started, they had a QR code on stage to help raise awareness of political problems. Actions like these always show that The Linda Lindas’ music is much more than powerful guitar riffs and catchy hooks. Their image on and off the stage completely embodies the meaning of punk rock by encouraging self-expression and making a difference in the current state of the world.
