WhyHunger is bringing music, comedy and community action together this fall with two events kicking off its 41st annual Hungerthon fundraiser and awareness campaign.
On Saturday, November 7, award-winning actor, producer, singer, and television personality Kalen Allen will host the family-friendly Hungerthon Hustle at Citi Field. Allen will deliver the opening remarks before joining participants on the run/walk course and presenting the winning prize during the post-run celebration.
The celebrations continue Tuesday, December 1, with the annual Amplified Hungerthon Concert at Webster Hall in New York City. The show will feature headliner Lucy Dacus, alongside Infinity Song and Emmy-nominated, Peabody-winning writer, director and comedian Julio Torres. Fans attending the concert will also have the opportunity to influence Dacus’ setlist by requesting a song with a donation to WhyHunger.
The event launches WhyHunger’s 41st annual Hungerthon campaign, which works to raise funds and awareness to end hunger and address the injustices that cause it. Through longstanding partnerships with SiriusXM and iHeartMedia New York, artist ambassadors including Bruce Springsteen and Yoko Ono Lennon, and supporters nationwide, the campaign brings together musicians, celebrities, and communities to champion everyone’s right to nutritious food.
