Austin’s CorMae are bringing their self-described riot grrrl egg punk to a wider audience. The band has signed with DC-Jam Records and is preparing to embark on their first DIY tour of the western United States in support of the album, Everything is SO GREAT!
Formed in 2024, CorMae have quickly established themselves within Austin’s punk community through a combination of garage rock energy, irreverent songwriting, and an emphasis on inclusive live performances. Their music draws from the rebellious spirit of riot grrrl and the playful unpredictability of egg punk, tackling everyday frustrations, relationships, and the complications of modern life with humor and a willingness to make some noise.
The band’s growing reputation has already landed them on bills alongside Pretty Girls Make Graves, Murder City Devils, Vial, Subhumans, and War on Women. Earlier this year, CorMae also completed a 16-date summer support run with of Montreal, introducing their music to audiences well beyond their hometown.
Originally released June 12, Everything is SO GREAT! brings the band’s outlook together across seven tracks, including “Time Deleter,” “RUT,” “Credit Card? You Got It!,” and “ADHD.” The record reflects CorMae’s interest in finding humor and common ground in the frustrations of everyday life, with songs intended to connect with listeners as much as encourage them to shout along.
Next up is the band’s first independently organized western tour, appropriately named the “Sunny Side Tour.” Running October 21 through November 12, the trip will take CorMae through Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and beyond before returning to Austin.
For Colorado punk fans, the tour includes a November 4 stop at Thrasher’s Bar in Colorado Springs, offering an opportunity to catch the band in an intimate setting as they continue building their audience on the road.
