Matchbox Twenty announce 52 stop 30th Anniversary Tour

Matchbox Twenty will celebrate three decades of music with an extensive 2027 North American tour, including a May 22 performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with The Wallflowers. The run will feature rotating support from The All American Rejects, David Gray, O.A.R., and more.

30 years after the release of their landmark debut album, Matchbox Twenty are preparing to bring their music back to stages across North America. The multi-platinum rock band has announced an extensive 52-date “30th Anniversary Tour” for 2027, celebrating a career that helped define the sound of alternative rock in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Promoted by Live Nation, the tour begins May 15 at Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, Alabama, and continues through August 12 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The run includes performances at some of North America’s most recognizable venues, including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Moody Center in Austin, and RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto.

The anniversary marks three decades since Matchbox Twenty released Yourself or Someone Like You in 1996. Featuring “Push,” “3AM,” “Real World,” “Long Day,” and “Back 2 Good,” the album became one of the defining rock releases of its era, eventually achieving diamond certification and selling more than 12 million copies in the United States.

While the band’s early success was enormous, their ability to continue connecting with listeners well beyond that initial breakthrough has been equally significant. Subsequent releases introduced songs like “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” “Unwell,” “How Far We’ve Come,” and “She’s So Mean,” expanding their catalog while preserving the melodic songwriting and emotional directness that made their debut so successful.

Led by vocalist Rob Thomas alongside Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook, Matchbox Twenty have sold more than 40 million records worldwide, earned multiple Grammy Award nominations, and performed for millions of fans across several continents. Their songs have remained fixtures of rock and pop radio while continuing to find new listeners through streaming and popular culture.

The anniversary celebration began October 12 with an intimate, sold out performance at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, where the band revisited material from Yourself or Someone Like You alongside other favorites. The group also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as part of the celebration.

The 2027 tour will feature an impressive rotating lineup of special guests, including The All American Rejects, The Wallflowers, David Gray, O.A.R., Matt Nathanson, and The Lucky. The changing support schedule offers several distinct pairings throughout the summer, bringing together artists with significant histories in alternative rock, pop rock, and singer-songwriter music.

Before the official tour begins, Matchbox Twenty will also appear at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on April 25.

Artist and Spotify presales began October 20, with additional presales scheduled throughout the week. General public ticket sales begin Friday, October 23, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets and presale information are available through Matchbox Twenty’s official tour page.
