There is an undeniable energy when a band returns to their hometown to play a sold-out show. almost monday played San Diego’s Observatory North Park on October 22, 2026, to a room packed wall-to-wall with excited fans.

Opening the show was Rec Hall, an indie-rock band from Los Angeles giving SoCal music vibes. They kicked off their set with “Desire,” and played all their top hits. Mid-set, the band paused to compliment the crowd’s dancing, then stated, “This next song is about the most primitive form of dancing, when we say jump, you jump!” And of course, the crowd listened. As they played “How Long,” the entire floor started jumping collectively in sync.

When it was almost monday’s turn to take the stage, the crowd gave them a huge homecoming welcome. They opened with “thank god it’s almost monday” and went right into “delicate,” with the crowd singing along to every word. Singer Dawson Daugherty never stood still for a second, dancing across the stage any chance he got. They truly are such a fun band to see live. The fan favorite song “only wanna dance” made the venue a big dance party. The whole setlist was packed with synth-pop hits like “can’t slow down” and “sunburn.”

What sets an almost monday show apart is their true authenticity and the complete joy they radiate from the stage. Surrounded by day-one fans, friends, and family, their performance at The Observatory North Park was a big celebration of their roots and a great example of their unstoppable momentum. I highly recommend catching this tour if it comes to your town; you will have the time of your life! Tour dates can be found here.
