Zootown Music Festival has officially announced its 2027 lineup, and there’s a lot to look forward to when the event returns to Missoula, Montana, for its third year on June 18 and 19. Leading the lineup are Brandi Carlile, Jack Johnson, Caamp, and Alabama Shakes, alongside Sierra Ferrell, Whiskey Myers, Courtney Barnett, Kitchen Dwellers, and more than a dozen additional acts. The 2027 edition will take place at the Missoula Fairgrounds, with one particularly notable first for the state: Jack Johnson will be making his Montana debut.

Zootown has been building its identity around more than just the music with the festival’s location being a pretty big part of the appeal. After just two editions, the event has already picked up some serious recognition, recently earning the 2026 Montana Tourism Destination of the Year Award. Its second year also caught the attention of The Missoulian, which described the event as a “‘magical’ weekend” in its coverage of the festival.
Fans traveled from all 50 states for the 2026 edition, drawn not only by the lineup but by the chance to experience everything Missoula and its surrounding landscape have to offer. Set among five mountain valleys, the city offers a pretty unique festival experience. Attendees can spend the morning kayaking, fly-fishing, or exploring nearby trails before heading to the Fairgrounds for an afternoon and evening of live music, with the Bitterroot Mountains providing the backdrop.
Beyond the performances, the festival is putting together a weekend of outdoor activities for visitors looking to make a little more of their trip. Biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, river tubing, guided hikes, trail rides, and scenic walking tours are among the experiences on offer, with morning activities planned on festival days. Additional excursions led by local outfitters will be announced through the festival’s website.
There’s another reason to make the trip next summer, too. Zootown will coincide with Missoula’s Pride weekend, running June 18-20. The celebrations will include the city’s annual Pride Parade on Saturday, June 19, giving festivalgoers another opportunity to get involved in the local community throughout the weekend.
Tickets are already generating interest. Following the 2026 festival, a limited number of early-bird “First Cast” tickets for 2027 sold out shortly after going on sale, despite next year’s lineup still being under wraps at the time.
For anyone hoping to make the trip, the next ticket release is right around the corner. Pre-sale for single-day and two-day passes begins Friday, October 30, at 10 a.m. MT through ZootownFestival.com. Access is available to those who attended the 2025 or 2026 editions, as well as fans signed up for the festival’s SMS updates. A limited number of single-day and two-day general admission tickets will also be available in person at Rockin Rudy’s in downtown Missoula at a special locals-only price. General ticket sales open later that day at 12 p.m. MT, with layaway plans available across all ticket types starting with a 10% down payment.
Produced by Switchback Presents, Knitting Factory Presents, and Shore Sound Entertainment, Zootown is quickly becoming a summer destination for music fans looking to pair a festival weekend with a little adventure. Between the mountain scenery, outdoor excursions, local food and craft beer scene, and a lineup that keeps getting bigger, Missoula has plenty to offer beyond the stage.
Two days of live music, a full weekend of exploring, and Pride celebrations happening across the city — not a bad way to spend a weekend in June, if you ask me!
