The co-headlining Dead Poet Society and Honey Revenge tour kicked off at San Diego’s House of Blues on October 23, 2026, and it was definitely a night to remember. With openers Broadside and HUNNY, it was a packed night full of great music.
Broadside started the show playing their fun pop-punk hits like “I Think They Know,” “Dazed & Confused,” and even newer songs like “Warning Signs” off their newest album released earlier this year, Nowhere, At Last. They got the crowd moving and warmed up for the rest of the night. Broadside is always so fun to watch live as Oliver Baxxter, the singer, moves around the stage the whole time. They will always be a band I recommend everyone see live because of how fun they are and the jokes that are thrown around during the set. They also made it clear they were very grateful for everyone that came out for the show, as Oliver said “It costs $20 just to breathe nowadays.” Broadside ended their set with “Foolish Believer,” stating, “it’s about anyone who has mommy or daddy issues.”

Next up on the stage was HUNNY, who had opened their set with “Halloween.” The band is a solo project run by frontman Jason Yarger. They played fan favorites during the set as well as a song they haven’t played live in a while, “Rebel Red.” While they played their alt-rock/indie songs, they had an old TV in the background playing cartoons on it. During the last song, the drummer’s cymbal broke off, which showed just how hard they were going.

From the moment Honey Revenge stepped on the stage, everyone was smiling and dancing. They started their set with “Technicolor,” then went right into “Run Your Mouth” and “Risk.” Honey Revenge is a duo, with members Devin Papadol and Donnie Lloyd, from Los Angeles, California. I had actually never seen them live before, but they put on such an exciting and fun set, and they proved immediately why they’ve built such a dedicated following. A few songs in, they made it a point to mention it was Devin’s birthday, so all the band members came on stage to sing her “Happy Birthday” while she took a shot and blew out candles in the number “28.” That celebratory atmosphere continued as they played their set, and the band and touring members would move around the stage and do high kicks and jumps. Devin hyped the room up by telling them to bounce so they could “earn their next set,” while jumping into “Butterfly Effect.” Donnie also didn’t stop smiling the entire time while playing guitar. It was so great to see a band that genuinely shows so much enjoyment putting on a live show.

The last band up was Dead Poet Society, who instantly shifted the mood of the room with their moody lights and dark-sounding tone. Their set was full of heavy distorted guitar riffs, and the crowd ate it up. After playing “Paralytic,” the band asked the crowd to open a pit. An unforgettable moment happened when the singer, Jack Underkofler, shared the story behind “I Never Loved Myself Like I Loved You.” He explained that the song started when he was trying to learn a Muse song, before excitedly sharing that the band would be opening up for Muse in Europe next month. They closed their heavy rock-n-roll set with “Hurt.”
