Clipse and J.I.D bring a generational hip-hop showdown to Red Rocks

Clipse and J.I.D will take over Red Rocks Amphitheatre on November 12 for a rare cross-generational hip-hop event, joined by rising artist Samara Cyn. The performance follows critically acclaimed releases from both headliners.

Two generations of hip-hop are coming together at one of the world’s most recognizable concert venues. On Thursday, November 12, Clipse and J.I.D will co-headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, with rising rapper and singer Samara Cyn opening the evening.

For Virginia Beach brothers Pusha T and Malice, the performance marks another milestone in an extraordinary comeback. After more than 15 years between studio albums, Clipse returned in 2025 with Let God Sort Em Out, a 13-track project produced by longtime collaborator Pharrell Williams. The album earned Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, while “Chains & Whips” featuring Kendrick Lamar won Best Rap Performance.

Clipse helped reshape the sound of early-2000s hip-hop through landmark albums Lord Willin’ and Hell Hath No Fury, pairing minimalist Neptunes production with intricate lyricism and uncompromising storytelling. Their catalog stretches from the unmistakable percussion of “Grindin‘” to the personal reflections of “The Birds Don’t Sing.” Following a sold-out 2025 tour that included Denver’s Mission Ballroom, their upcoming Red Rocks appearance represents their largest Colorado headline performance to date.

Sharing the bill is Atlanta rapper J.I.D, whose intricate flows and technical precision have established him among the most respected lyricists of his generation. His acclaimed 2022 album The Forever Story featured the multi-platinum hit “Surround Sound,” while 2025’s God Does Like Ugly continued his rise with collaborations spanning multiple corners of hip-hop.

The two headliners already share a musical connection through “Community,” a collaboration featuring Clipse on J.I.D’s latest album. Their pairing at Red Rocks brings together artists whose approaches to lyricism reflect different eras of rap while sharing an emphasis on technical ability and distinctive production.

Opening the show is Samara Cyn, an emerging artist whose blend of hip-hop, neo-soul, and introspective songwriting has attracted attention from some of the genre’s most respected names. A member of the 2025 XXL Freshman Class, Cyn has released projects including The Drive Home, backroads, and Detour, establishing herself as a promising voice in contemporary rap.

Event Details: Clipse & J.I.D with Samara Cyn — Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 6 p.m.
