The two heavyweights of modern metal join forces on a powerful new single inspired by Pablo Picasso’s timeless quote, donating all proceeds to Doctors Without Borders.
After tearing through a sold-out U.S. tour that moved over 35,000 tickets earlier this year, Switzerland’s heaviest export Paleface Swiss reunites with longtime tour-mates Stick To Your Guns for their explosive new single, “Instrument of War.” Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s declaration — “No, painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war for attack and defense against the enemy” — the track captures the transformative power of art as both weapon and shield.
Written mid-tour and finalized by producer Florent Salfati (Landmvrks), the single embodies the unity and shared convictions of Paleface Swiss frontman Marc “Zelli” Zellweger and Stick To Your Guns vocalist Jesse Barnett, who co-wrote the track while on the road. The official music video, directed by Kriss Jakob and produced by Marco Bayati, is now streaming worldwide.
In a joint statement, Zelli and Barnett explain:
“Our music isn’t just some shit to put on in the background. It’s something real that comes from a real place, meant to attack the things that divide us and defend all the things that bring us together.”
Reflecting the song’s message of compassion and activism, 100% of proceeds from “Instrument of War” — including sales from a limited edition charity T-shirt — will be donated to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), supporting their emergency medical work in conflict zones around the globe.
Zelli and Jesse continue:
“We stand for what’s right—whether that means supporting mental health or speaking out against oppression and violence. This song already carried those messages, which is why it felt like the right vehicle for something bigger—and why it made sense to use it to give back.”
Paleface Swiss has become one of modern metal’s most vital forces, known for fusing brutal sonic aggression with raw vulnerability. Their acclaimed album Cursed charted at No. 17 globally on Spotify, No. 3 in the U.S., and No. 1 in the U.K., followed by Cursed: The Complete Edition. The record’s success propelled the band into a year of sold-out tours across Europe, the U.K., North America, and Australia — totaling more than 60,000 tickets sold.
With Stick To Your Guns and Static Dress joining them for their 2026 European and U.K. run, Paleface Swiss continue to redefine the modern metal landscape — uniting chaos, conviction, and compassion.
