Faouzia announces debut album FILM NOIR out November 7

On October 2, Moroccan-born artist Faouzia announced her highly anticipated debut album FILM NOIR, set to be released on November 7. Faouzia launched her career in 2018 with the release of “Bad Dreams,” followed by hits like “Tears of Gold” (2019), “Minefields” (2020), and “Don’t Call Me” (2023).

Most recently, she teased the new album with singles “PORCELAIN,” “PEACE & VIOLENCE,” and “UNETHICAL,” which has already surpassed 10 million combined streams and video plays. These singles landed her on the cover of Spotify’s “Pop All Day” playlist after previously being named “Artist to Watch” by Entertainment Weekly and Variety. The latter also described her as “an international artist in the truest sense”.

The news followed a more intimate reveal during her sold-out event at Théâtre Les Étoiles in Paris last Monday. There, she performed fan-favourites like “Tears of Gold,” “Minefields,” and “Fur Elise,” along with her latest releases. When describing the album and what this release means to her, Faouzia said:

I have waited over seven years for this moment – every obstacle, every defeat, every triumph all poured into one project. When I first started writing this album, I approached it with one question: If this were the only project I left behind, what would it sound like? What would I eternally be proud of? I wrote this album as though my survival depended on it, because in many ways it did. When you’re on the brink of losing yourself, everything — your purpose, your identity — is at stake. FILM NOIR transcends lyrics and melody. It is a culmination of every thought and every story I so urgently needed to tell – my one and only testimony.
