Sumo Cyco kicked the night off with an explosive set that instantly grabbed the crowd’s attention. Skye Sweetnam, who celebrated a birthday that night, commanded the stage with a mix of punk attitude, metal intensity, and charisma that made it impossible to look away. Their performance felt unpredictable as the crowd surged while singing, and the band played in the midst of the crowd. Every song hit with energy, and the crowd fed right back into it.
Next up was SOiL, bringing a wave of early-2000s hard rock nostalgia mixed with the same heaviness that made them stand out years ago. Songs like “Halo” live still hit just as hard, and the crowd agreed. Their set had that perfect balance of aggression and melody, rawness that left you wanting more.
Then came Nonpoint, and the energy in the room immediately shifted. In my opinion, one of the most consistently underrated live bands in heavy music, they proved yet again why they’ve maintained such a loyal fanbase for decades. From the second they hit the stage, the crowd was locked in. Elias Soriano’s stage presence is unmatched; every movement, every scream, every interaction with the audience felt genuine and intense.
The band tore through their set with the kind of passion that can’t be faked. Their setlist turned the venue into complete chaos and left everyone in a sweaty mess in the best way! Nonpoint doesn’t just perform, they connect. You can feel how much these songs still mean to both the band and the fans, singing every word back to them. Hands down, one of the best performances I’ve seen this year!
