Movements announce “Happier Now” album out 9/4 + share double single

Southern California’s post-hardcore stalwarts Movements have announced their new album Happier Now, arriving September 4 via Fearless Records. To mark the announcement, the band has shared a double single — “Dissolve Me” and “Back in My Ways” — along with an accompanying video.

Produced once again by GRAMMY-winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Circa Survive), Happier Now blends the early elements of the band’s sound with the newer material of 2023’s RUCKUS! “Dissolve Me,” the first track written for the record, features tense and angular riffs wrapped in shimmering vocal harmonies. Vocalist Patrick Miranda describes it as “a confession about my own social behaviors and the challenges I face in navigating even the smallest or most ‘normal’ everyday interactions.” Meanwhile, “Back in My Ways” is a slow-burn masterclass in sonic storytelling that erupts in a torrent of riffs in its final third, harkening back to the band’s earlier sounds.

In many ways, Happier Now is a full-circle moment for Movements, who are once again performing on Warped Tour this summer and slowly becoming veterans of the community that inspired them growing up.
