Dead Register releases ‘Fiber (10th Anniversary Deluxe Remaster)’ with live video for “Reverse”

Fiber (10th Anniversary Deluxe Remaster) has been released by Dead Register via AVR. A video recording of “Reverse” performed live at The Earl in Atlanta, recorded during the band’s Fiber LP release show 10 years ago in 2016, is included with the remastered version.

The recording, which was kept straight from the soundboard, shows Dead Register in its unadulterated state. The song and video captured an early version of a song that would eventually appear in other parts of the band’s discography. “Reverse (Live)” is included at the conclusion of the track list on Fiber (10th Anniversary Deluxe Remaster) and offers both celebration and introspection.

Fiber (10th Anniversary Deluxe Remaster), released ten years after the band’s debut full-length album changed their course, brings back the original recordings with fresh clarity and depth while maintaining the emotional impact and immediacy that carried the album well beyond its original release.

Dan Dixon, audio engineer and mastering specialist, went over the material again to give the performances more depth. The relationship between rhythm, ambiance, and voice can land with more physical impact thanks to the remaster’s enhancement of audio density and detail.

In real time, Fiber records a band finding its voice. The album is organized as a continuous emotional arc that progresses through existential contemplation, intimacy, solitude, and controlled destruction before returning to its starting position. “Reverse (Live Bonus Track),” which was recorded during the band’s initial 2016 album release performance, completes that arc in the anniversary edition.

Fiber continues to be essential to Dead Register’s identity despite the band’s constant touring and critically acclaimed output since its debut. Both new and seasoned listeners will find the record compelling and clear in the anniversary version.

Regarding Dead Register:

In 2013, Dead Register was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, with the sole goal of using sound that was nearly entirely in the lowest register to explore emotional and sonic weight. The band creates immersive worlds that prioritize mood, tension, and physical impact over convention by utilizing bass instruments, synthesizers, piano, live percussion, and a powerful baritone vocal presence. Early on, Dead Register was able to establish a unique character based on density, distance, and hypnotic repetition thanks to the guitar’s absence.

M. Chvasta and Avril Che founded the project, which swiftly progressed from experimenting to a fully realized live entity. Years of touring around the U.S. and Canada helped to solidify the project. The band transforms studio material into an instantaneous, visceral live experience formed by loudness, movement, and human interaction through their performances, which emphasize direct execution without the use of backing tracks or artificial reinforcement. Che directs and produces all of the band’s visual media and videos in-house, so the visual presentation is still inextricably linked to the music.

Dead Register has created a collection of work characterized by dark humor, noir ambiance, grim romanticism, and moments of unexpected sensitivity over a number of releases, including Fiber, Captive, Don’t Fail Me, and Alive. Though difficult to categorize, their sound incorporates elements of post-metal, gothic rock, industrial textures, and experimental songwriting. Each release expands the emotional vocabulary established at the band’s inception while maintaining an unwavering commitment to authenticity and physical sonic presence.

Dead Register functions as a continuous investigation of survival, connection, collapse, and desire. Through intense live performances, collaborative visual art, and a commitment to producing music that resonates as both shared catharsis and personal confrontation, the band continues to develop its approach.

Dead Register is:

Bass VI, Bass IV, and Vocals by M. Chvasta
Avril Che: Vocals, Visual Media, 88 Keys, Bass Synth
