Jenny Gillespie Mason shares “Touch Everyone On Earth” taken from “In The Safety of Light” out June 13th

Jenny Gillespie Mason has delivered “Touch Everyone On Earth,” the final song from her upcoming album In the Safety of the Light, out June 12, 2026, on Native Cat Recordings. The third and final album preview, “Touch Everyone On Earth”, is a dream-prayer produced by Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, Bert Jansch, Vashti Bunyan). The song is based on a night the singer spent lying awake in a hotel room in New York City, picturing the Divine Mother answering her plea to heal a traumatized earth. The song is recorded on a Wurlitzer at the suggestion of producer Noah Georgeson, giving the song a plaintive, sensitive feel that befits its topic – the act of praying itself.

“This song draws from a spiritual experience I had on a sleepless night visiting New York City a few years ago,” Mason said of the song. “I often have really beautiful, deep experiences there, sometimes pretty intense and weird, that end up changing me. I heard recently the city is built on a bedrock of quartz, so it’s just supercharged and can be transformative if you’re open. Noah Georgeson, who produced the record, suggested I record this song on Wurlitzer, which I think fits perfectly as it’s such a plaintive, tender sound and the song’s chorus describes the act of prayer.”

“Touch Everyone On Earth” follows “Rungs of Love” and “Medicine of Light,” which together map the ladder between worldly love and greater devotion. This last track shows the full extent of In the Safety of the Light: music that is minimal and intimate in form, yet wide in its spiritual aims.

The album was recorded in spring and autumn 2025 at a private studio in Los Angeles, with Noah Georgeson as producer. Most of the tracks were recorded live as an ensemble. Having spent more than a decade exploring psychedelic pop, jazz, and electronic textures with her band Sis – most recently as Sis and the Lower Wisdom – Mason returned to the acoustic guitar she first started writing on as a teenager. Drawing on Mason’s practice as an aspiring yogi, her life as a mother and wife, and her deep involvement with the teachings of Mother Mirra Alfassa, the album wrestles with concerns of how to live a spiritual life and still be fully human.

Sonically, the album draws on the pastoral warmth of 1970s British folk, with nods to Catherine Howe and Fairport Convention, while extending out at moments into the more atmospheric and ambient sounds of Hiroshi Yoshimura and the cosmic folk of Beck.
