On their debut album, Chico combines hardcore aggression with alternative rhythm and rides it across ten enticing songs. From the first notes of “CLCC” to “Don’t Wanna Be Here,” the band keeps things dynamic with searing riffs, laid-back melodies, and shouted/sung vocals. Tracks range from ready to create a mosh pit to absolutely blissed out, perfect for that end-of-summer feeling. It digs into what it feels like to have a dream and build your whole life around it, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it.

Vocalist Lance Gibson adds: “The record kind of touches on all of the emotions that making being in a band your life entails – joy, struggle, doubt, determination, pride, spite, and more. At times, it can feel like a one-sided relationship; you give it all your time, money, and effort, but you get nothing in return more often than not.”

Chico was recorded in Taylor Hecocks’ home studio in Orange, California, with drums tracked with Adam Castilla at Brick Mansion Recordings in Fullerton and mixed/mastered by Scott Goodrich out of San Francisco.

Chico will celebrate the release on August 21 in Los Angeles, California, at AboveTheBridge with supporting acts Pop Free, Free From Concern, and Low Boy. The band will tour with Death Lens throughout Texas and California beginning September 25. Complete dates below.
