Rochester, New York-based trio Glasswaves are excited to introduce their new album while(True), a seamless blend of dark pop, alternative rock, and electronic sounds with a powerful and dynamic edge. The debut album is out October 23 via SharpTone Records.

Today, the band — Noah Rich [vocals], Owen Miller [guitar], and Brendan Curtis [bass] — debuts the video for new track “Swarm.ING_.”

“This song is about the feeling of something taking over your mind and feeding off of you, only to realize you are the thing that’s been consuming you,” says Noah. “When this one started, it felt like we tapped into a new, almost nu-metal direction for us, while still keeping that core Glasswaves sound.”

“while(True) is our most ambitious and personal release yet,” he continues. “Through the story of a failing medical technology company experimenting with dream manipulation, we explore themes of trauma, addiction, perception, and the unseen forces that shape the way we think. More than anything, this album represents our growth as writers. We stopped trying to meet expectations and made the record we really wanted to make; we stretched ourselves creatively. We can’t wait for people to experience the world of while(True) and find their own meaning within it.”

Liminal-Neuro, a med-tech business, is conducting psychological testing on a variety of patients using an experimental substance dubbed “Neuro Veil” in an attempt to better understand and cure trauma, addiction, and obsession.

When these tests go awry, a luminous, ancient female being known as “The Veil” manifests, assuming the form of the subject’s most fervent wishes. Force is deceitful. It pulls out the worst in its victims, inspiring horrors beyond imagining.

Liminal-Neuro’s lead doctor is determined to discover her… whatever the ethics.

This story may be the story arc of an epic sci-fi horror short series or even some real news report. But it unfolds in an engaging manner on Glasswaves’ full-length first LP, while(True). The action of the story is set to a soundtrack that has been supercharged with bursts of cathartic metalcore, shockwaves of ethereal hard rock, and spasms of sensitive dark pop by the Rochester, New York, group.

Coupled with big screen-worthy storytelling, the collective, which formed in 2023 and steadily built a following through singles, an EP, and touring, instantly strikes a chord on multiple levels. “People will see things happening and choose not to do anything, because it’s easier than taking action,” explains Miller. “Developments like A.I. data centers deplete natural resources, but nobody seems to care. ‘The Veil’ represents this sort of selfishness. Even though the company Liminal Neuro promises to get rid of your fears and worries and empower you to become the person you want to be, the doctors are merely using everyone just to find ‘The Veil.’”

The artists met up throughout 2026 with producer Justin Spaulding, working out of Atlanta and New York as well as over Discord, in a while(True) loop. The band took influence from a range of bands, including The Neighborhood, Tame Impala, The Plot In You, Sace6, and Bring Me The Horizon.

Overall, Glasswaves have created a multi-dimensional environment like no other.
